When I was running fedora core 4 I could click on system tools and change the seconds
to have grub boot the default OS.... Does anyone know how to change the boot time in Fedora 5 to give me more than 5 seconds to choose which OS I want to boot...brett

Sure. Open a terminal, sign in as root (su -) and then: "gedit /boot/grub/grub.conf" which will open a new window. In that window, look for 'timeout' which should show '5' and increase it to whatever you want. Then save, close that window and type 'exit' to leave the terminal.

hi brett....

the easiest way to adjust the boot time is to become root and then using your favorite text editor edit

/boot/grub/grub.conf

locate the timeout line (timeout=5) and change it to a higher value of your choice. save the file and the next time you boot up it will take the new value.

some distros use menu.lst instead of grub.conf. just an fyi if you adjust other linux boxes. hope it helps...
