Hi ...

I have a few desktop objects that are URLs which don't open. If I watch the disk light I see a brief blink and nothing else and the object is not opened.

E.g.:

cat ducksfeet.desktop
[Desktop Entry]
Version=1.0
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=ducksfeet
Type=Link
URL=http://www.ducskfeet.com
TryExec=
Icon=/export/share/pixmaps/dflogo.png
X-GNOME-DocPath=
Terminal=false
Name[en_US]=SZChat
GenericName[en_US]=
Comment[en_US]=
GenericName=
Comment=

Now as far as gnome is concerned this is what's set for url-handlers:

gconftool-2 -a /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/http
needs_terminal = false
command = firefox -remote "openurl(%s,new-tab)"
enabled = true

If I run "firefox-remote 'openurl(http://www.ducksfeet.com,new-tab)'" I get what one would exepect -- firefox opening the URL in a new tab.

I have tried setting needs_terminal to true but that doesnt change anything.

Any ideas on how to debug this or why this wouldn't be working?

Thanks,
Nic

After rebooting AND nuking /tmp it all works again.
