Hi there everyone,

When I first started up FC 5, I used Firefox, and it told me that I needed the flash plugin, so I installed it via the browser, and went on my way. Now, everytime I try to open a page that requires flash, I get an info box telling me that Flash 7 may cause linux to become unstable, do I want to continue, etc... The flash never works right.

Searching the forums, I found Mr. Finley's tut on installing flash, but before I follow that, could someone tell me how to uninstall the flash plugin that firefox installed? I don't want to screw this up.

thanks,

I can't find the link to the official instructions right now, but if you have :

.mozilla/plugins/flashplayer.xpt
.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so

...in your home directory, remove those. Test it by restarting firefox and noting that the url about:plugins does not show flash player anymore.

EDIT : here it is, but it's just a generic statement. Found from the link in url about:plugins :
