Can anyone say whether it is possible to get python 2.4 running on Fedora Core 2?

If so, what is involved?

It's possible. How involved I don't know.

Why do you want 2.4?

If you want to build from the RH SRPMs, it's not trivial...

I've played with building the FC5 Python SRPM for WBEL4 (which is similar to FC3). It doesn't work as is - and I haven't finished dibbling the build yet. If I get it finished, I'll post my SRPM, as this will *probably* build of FC2. But don't hold your breath - I've got lots on :-(

Vic.

Thanks for the posts.

My desire to move forward has to do with thread handling, which I believe is improved in 2.4.x. I have a server application update that has been tested on python 2.4.x. I would like to keep each installation as consistent as possible. One client is on FC 2 and, for the moment, does not want to migrate the other applications.

For now, I must stay with python 2.3.4 for the machine running FC 2.
