Hi:
I have just set a new box with FC5, 2x40 GB IDE drives in a software RAID1. The RAID works fine, but I cannot use the recorder.

I think there should be the ide-cd kernel module in

/lib/modules/2.6.15-1.2054_FC5/kernel/drivers/ide/ide-cd.ko

but there is not, and I think this is because the lack of that module.

The error obtained when trying to burn anything with growisofs is something like:
#growisofs -Z /dev/dvd -R -J /folder/with/some/files/*

[PERFORM OPC failed with SK=5h/ASC=30h/ACQ=02h]: Wrong medium type

1. Can anybody with Fedora 5 send me that file so I can try to modprobe it?

2. Am I wrong? Does anybody knows how can I use the burner without the ide-cd module?

Thanks a lot.

Please ignore the issue.
The problem is solved. The recorder seems not to be compatible with FC5.
It was a LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1633S BS0C.
I replaced it with a _NEC DVD_RW ND-3500AG and it worked fine at the first time.
