I setup the one button mouse and it says to press teh FN key + alt. What is the FN key if I'm not using a notebook computer?

I have only seen a "fn" key on laptops...ctrl , alt or window key would be next ones I would try...
is the mouse software only intended for laptops?

Isn't a FN key a function key? E.g. F1, F2, F3...

no the mouse is just a one button mouse that came with the G3 that i have. I have seen on several places where they tell you how to make something work but you have to push the FN key also and they don't tell you how to make that happen on a desktop. It says it is a PS2 mouse which it isn't it is usb and it is one button but it says it is 3. I just want to know how to get around using the other button like on a mac you just old Control and click.

In Fedore don't appear to be a rigth click or a midle button emulation. FN don't appear to be useful. I think you will need to buy a usb 3 button mouse or configure your keyboard to emulate one. If your choice is emulation, go to Yellowdog linux page and ask there.
