This is what terminal shows:

export http_proxy="http://your.proxy:port/"

Then run yum

[root@localhost etc]# export htpp_proxy="http://proxy.btv.lv:port3080/"

like this?
When I entered a line like this, I recieved no reply from the terminal.

[root@localhost etc]# export htpp_proxy="http://proxy.btv.lv:port3080/"
Other than the typo, yes. It's http, not htpp.

I wrote it in just as you said, but then the terminal says that I have an invalid port number. (i rechecked it, it was 3128 not 3080) Is there any way I can specify the terminal to automatically detect the proxy configuration through the http://proxy.btv.lv/ url?

No, autoconfigure URLs like that actually serve up a javascript function.

Actually, no...

[root@localhost etc]# export htpp_proxy="http://proxy.btv.lv:port3080/"
You can't have the work "port" there, that's not valid. Replace "port" with the port number.
[root@localhost etc]# export htpp_proxy="http://proxy.btv.lv:3080/"
