I own a large collection of avi/mpeg/mp3/etc- which are located in a External Buffalo Drive.

Whenever i click on a file and try to play it using xine i get the following error:

-xine engine error-
There is no input plugin avaliable to handle
'smb://buffalo01/mymovie.avi'
Maybe MRL syntax is wrong or file/stream source doesn't exit.

weird, cause i have to copy the movies to my local drive in order to see them.

any help is welcome.

thanks

You need to mount the smb share to a directory then use that as your source. That should take card of it.

What is a "External Buffalo Drive"? How is it connected to your machine?

What full command did you use to mount the samba share?
Once mounted you have to load the files from the mount point (not the original place you tried first)
