I have tons of email in my root account (/var/spool/mail/root).
I want to transer everything to another account.

Without going through each one with a client and forwarding them,
how can I send or transfer everything to another user ?

Thanks !
Matthew

Use fetchmail.

Or, (from memory, it's been a while) fire up "mutt" as root. Press "Shift-t" to tag messages by expression and type a period then return. You've now tagged all messages. Type "b" to bounce these messages and type the address of the user you want to receive the emails and return. That should do it, mutt rules.

You can now add an entry to /etc/aliases to forward roots mail to another address. Don't forget to run "newaliases" after updating it.

Almost perfect.....need to use ;b to bounce all tagged messages. :)
