I can't find "clamd" when searching using yum. Last time I installed clamav (I recently had to re-install my whole comp) I copied freshclam.conf in the /etc/ folder and renamed the copy "clamd.conf", this actually worked fine... this time it hasn't done so... I get this error:

[root@a-202 ~]# freshclam
ERROR: Please edit the example config file /etc/freshclam.conf.
ERROR: Please edit the example config file /etc/clamd.conf.
ERROR: Can't parse the config file /etc/clamd.conf

I have the two files now but I think the problem is the commenting in them... would someone be willing to post the contents of thier clamscan.conf and clamd.conf files here so I can copy them in... I don't think any of it is sensitive from a security sense, appart from maybe the proxy stuff, but because I don't use one you could leave that out. It would really help me

Thanks

You need to edit the /etc/freshclam.conf and comment out the "example" line in the file as shown.

##
## Example config file for freshclam
## Please read the freshclam.conf(5) manual before editing this file.
## This file may be optionally merged with clamd.conf.
##

# Comment or remove the line below.
# Example

I don't mind if this doesn't get answered: Is that a typo or was it put there deliberately ?
