Hi all,

ist it possible to use window-shadows without XGL or AIGLX? I use FC5 with a ATI 9800. Any ideas? Thanks.

Yes it is. What you need to do is add these lines to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "true"
EndSection
Then you need a composite manager which can draw shadows:
xcompmgr (http://www.freedesktop.org/xapps/release/xcompmgr-1.1.tar.gz) - is a composite manager for shadows and other effects. Compile it.

More info on how to use xcompmgr -> here (http://gentoo-wiki.com/TIP_Xorg_X11_and_Transparency)
