When I first installed Fedora core 5 everything works fine until a recent update of the kernel-2.6.16-1.2107. From the server I can ping the outside world and internal computers. I also can ping the server from another computer, but can not access any port from either outside or internal network. I can not ssh from outside or internal network either. Neither SMB or httpd are accessible from outside or internal.

I also can not ssh from that server to an internal server. Seem like some kind of firewall is blocking all ports!

The only think I can do is ping or telnet to the port but can not access it.

I even tried updating to a newer kernel that came out today and still experieced the same problem. I had to boot back to the old kernel that came with the install as a work around.

Has Anyone experience this?

New kernel is buggy, Id suggest switching back to 2096 and staying there for a while :D

Darn it I have to exclude the kernel from yum so it will not update the kernel again. Took me a while to figured it out because I did not have a monitor on this server :) ... Since I can access it thru ssh I have to hook up a monitor and see what's going on.

There is a massive thread on the problem here: http://forum.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=107847 As discussed a couple of dozen times already, I'm closing the other threads so problems and solutions stay in one place.
