Has anyone tried install Linspire's AOL dialer from source?
I am relatively new to linux and have not installed from source yet (everything I've needed so far has an rpm)
I understand the unzip >> ./configure >> make >> make install
assuming no errors that should install in usr/local (right?)

the problem is there is no make or configure option when you uncompress los-aol-0.0.2
any help is appreciated

so close!

to untar a file you use

tar -zvxf for .tar.gz
tar-xvfj for .tar.bz

This is me guessing that the file is in either of those two formats. If all else fails, right click the icon and select "extract here"

Yea sorry slipped back into a windows world for a sec :D .
The problem is when I un-tar? In the directory created there is no configure or make option.
there is a "Build-stamp(empty doc.)" "configure-stamp(empty doc.)" "los-aol (shell script)" "los-aol.desktop(desktop config file)" "los-aol.png (png image)" and a "los-aol" folder.
I must be missing something...
I wish there were some kind of documentation with this.
