1st May 2006, 10:52 PM
i have set up vnc numerous times on 32-bit FC4. but has anyone seen vnc work on 64-bit FC5? i cannot make it work

here is my xstartup file, everything as it should be:

exec /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc
[ -x /etc/vnc/xstartup ] && exec /etc/vnc/xstartup
[ -r $HOME/.Xresources ] && xrdb $HOME/.Xresources
xsetroot -solid grey
vncconfig -iconic &
xterm -geometry 80x24+10+10 -ls -title "$VNCDESKTOP Desktop" &
twm &

... and here is the log of the vncserver when started, it is clear that there are errors:

I have the same problem. Did you ever figure it out?

i backed up my server and paid 100 euro to my host to reformat the disks and install CentOS 4.3 x86_64

64-bit CentOS (based on RHEL4 + FC3 + FC4) runs NX and VNC and is stable

i keep 32-bit FC5 on my desktop machine where it belongs
