For some reason, when logging off as root all of the partitions in my fstab (other than / and swap) unmount themselves so iIm left with just blank folders. I had thought it was samba, because all of the folders in /mnt are samba shares, but this seems not to be the case as it is happening regardless of whether they are being shared or not.

I think my fstab is fine, but I will include it just in case -

LABEL=/1 / ext3 defaults 1 1
devpts /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
tmpfs /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
LABEL=/mnt/pandemona /mnt/pandemona ext3 defaults 1 2
LABEL=/mnt/syldra /mnt/syldra ext3 defaults 1 2
LABEL=/mnt/sylph /mnt/sylph ext3 defaults 1 2
LABEL=Fenris /mnt/valefor ext3 defaults 1 2
LABEL=/mnt/yojimbo /mnt/jinn ext3 defaults 1 2
/dev/hdd1 /mnt/fenris ext3 defaults 1 2
/dev/hdd5 /mnt/yojimbo ext3 defaults 1 2
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
sysfs /sys sysfs defaults 0 0
LABEL=SWAP-hda7 swap swap defaults 0 0

Incidentally, if I log in as user first and then log off, the partitions remain mounted until I log in and out as root.

Any ideas?
