I found an rpm on rpmfind.net :

system-logviewer-0.9.12-0.2.src.rpm (http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/redhat/enterprise/4/i386/src/system-logviewer-0.9.12-0.2.src.html)

...it appears to be deprecated, not in yum, and had a bunch of warnings and didn't do quite do what I wanted. I beat my head on it for awhile and now it does more of what I want. Just a simple logviewer with a selection list.

It's GPL'd code so I'm not sure what to do about the legal issues...so I've posted the rpms (src and noarch) at :

My Website (http://mysite.verizon.net/dr650/)

I changed the name slightly to avoid clashes. I developed under FC5 and have done preliminary testing of the noarch on FC4 and FC5.

Anyway, I guess I've given back in some small way, and released all my changes per the GPL.
