i'm using Bluefish 1.0.5
the first time i used it earlier today, it worked fine. but now when i try to save my .htm file it gives me a message that says "A backupfile for [filename.htm] could not be created. If you continue, this file will be overwritten." then i have 2 choices to "Abort Save" or "Continue Save". if i click "Continue Save" i get a message that says "Could not write file: [filename.htm]."
has anyone ever encountered this?
any help?

sounds like a permissions problem. Did you run bluefish as root the first time?

I had a similar problem when I upgraded to FC5 and went to modify some html files I'd backed up. Had to change the permissions on the files to allow me to write to them.

yea, it was permission issues.
i know that i wasnt logged in as root when i first made the file but it had only root permission. i probably gave myself root priviledges before i started the document. i just dont remember doing that, however.
oh well, its fixed now.
