A couple of months ago (I think it was on Fedora Weekly News) there was a little run down of a dvd copier.

It was the easiest and best dvd ripper I've ever seen on linux. It was simple command line and it was as easy as just putting a dvd in (movie) and telling it to copy, after which it would burn it for you. No messing around with ripping and then transcoding and all that rubbish.

Does anyone remember what its called or where I can get it? I can't find it anywhere.

I can never get perl-DVD:Rip to work. I just want to copy a DVD now and then.

Otherwise another suggestion?

try http://dvdshrink.sourceforge.net/ it copies and shrinks just the main feature of the disk, or multiple episoodes from a TV series disk. Personally I uses dvdbackup and the windows dvdshrink program running under wine. You have to use an older libdvdread to get dvdbackup to work....

I don't know the weekly news that you're refering to but I use K3B for my burning needs.

gocr is an OCR program to read the sub titles, I think I installed it from source.

I would like to try dvdshrink, but, on FC5, there's nothing named perl_base. This dependency stops the install. I tried looking at CPAN, nothing there either. What's the deal with that?
