Whenever I do a relog or a reboot and start up Firefox a warning box appears stating that the install.rtf is malformed or missing and will not be able to install. I have tried removing and reinstalling but, the problem still persists. I can not get extensions to install properly.
When I install them and restart Firefox the extension box keeps telling me that they will be installed when I restart the program. No matter how many times I restart it keeps telling me the same thing.

However I can get them to show up and work part of the time when I log in as root. If I log in as root then remove and reinstall and install the extensions they work fine but, if I log out and log in as a regular user nothing shows up and I can't install the extensions I installed as root. I am using FC5 and Firefox 1.5.02

It's a know bug in Firefox 1.5.0.2, I'm seeing it too. AFAIK it's from a bad version of the "Fedora Chinese Lang. Support" extension. It should be fixed soon.
