Why i have duplicates files installed in my fedora5 x86 64?

i have files with the same name but one is for 386 and others for x86 64... now when i trie to update i see duplicate files (386 and x86 64)

What's the problem?!!!

Not everything is available in a 64-bit flavour.

Your "duplicates" aren't quite duplicates; some are built for a 32-bit environemnt, some for 64-bit.

In an ideal world, we wouldn't have this - but we don't live in an ideal world. If a package is only available in 32-bit, you either don't use it, or you have to install all the (32-bit) libraries etc. that it needs.

Clearer?

And yum actually manages this sanely, and x86_64 can run both, so no need to worry.
