I just finished installing FC4 and mistyped the root pass. How do I change it or reset it without knowing the current password.

Try restarting your machine, when it gets to grub press an arrow key to stop it loading automatically. Press e and add replace the bit that says 'rhgb' with '1'. Hopefully this will start you up in single user mode with a console. Type passwd to set a new root password. You can probably type 'init 5' into the console then or restart the machine ('reboot') to get things back to normal.
