I am trying to play DVDs and MPG's in Gnome with the Totem player, and all it keeps telling me is that I don't have the right codecs/plugins installed.

I have had a trawl through the Fedora and Totem sites, but can't find anything which looks suitable. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Everything you need is here: http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=28153

you will need to remove totem and it will give you dependency error but go ahead and remove it as root like this:
rpm -e --nodeps totemafter installing totem-xine you will need to re-install rhythmbox:
yum install -y rhythmbox
