View Full Version : chkfontpath question

20th April 2006, 03:21 AM

I added a font directory by "chkfontpath -a <dir>" and restart xfs and X. "chkfontpath" command or /etc/X11/fs/config shows the change but "xset -q" doesn't. Then I cannot find the new font in "xlsfonts" or "xfd".

However, the new font works if I use "xset fp+ <dir>". Can anyone explain the reason? Also there are some other font commands like "fc-list" and "fc-cache". What is the relation between all these commands?

The system is FC5 and it uses xfs (only one "FontPath "unix/:7100"" line in xorg.conf).
