View Full Version : [help] Fc5 Kernel Source

19th April 2006, 05:47 PM
I'm installing the Zaptel drivers (asterisk). When a type the MAKE command I see this message:

You do not appear to have the sources for the 2.6.16-1.2080_FC5 kernel installed

At /lib/modules/2.6.16-1.2080_FC5, "build" is a broken link and not a directory.

Could someone help me?
(sorry for my english)

"yum install kernel-devel-2.6.16-1.2080_FC5"

build is a symlink into /usr/src which is populated after that "yum".

I've got a similar problem but unfortuantly didn't have as much luck with the fix as fernando.

when I run that command you mentioned i get a couple of errors:
'Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo:core
Error: Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo:core'

Does anyone have any idea what that means and how i can fix it?

I'd appreciate any help.

What's your Yum config?
Read this:
For FC4: http://fedoranews.org/mediawiki/index.php/Fedora_Core_4_Linux_Installation_Notes
For FC5: http://stanton-finley.net/fedora_core_5_installation_notes.html

Note sure what my YUM Config is...

what ever I try to do with yum (eg. yum -y update or yum -y install yumex) I still get the above error messages...

Any other ideas?

Well, have you read the guides above? They explain everything

[QUOTE=vossitch]Note sure what my YUM Config is...

Mine is vanilla ...straight from the CDs. I haven't changed anything
in /etc/yum.respos.d yet. As Lluisanunez suggested, Stan Finley's
guide has a chunk about yum and repo's.
