After minicom is started on FC3, there is no data appear on the console.
We had checked the communication parameters such as serial rate, parity and stop bit.
We use the HyperTerminal on windows XP successfully so hardware is not a problem.
What is wrong?
Do we need a special driver or kernel for serial cable?

If you've configured everything properly, minicom should work. Run "minicom -s" as root, set and device permissions so that a "normal" can access the serial port and you should be good to go.

Are you connecting to a serial modem? If so, you may want to create a symlink from your serial port to the modem (ln -s /dev/ttyS0 /dev/modem).

I had this same problem once before...worked fine under Windows but not Linux. What was happening was that the serial port was not being enabled in Linux and I had to go into the BIOS and enable it manually. There may be a way to do this within Linux, but I never figured out how.
