I had xp pro on my laptop, i installed fc4 and it took over the whole hard drive(my fault) im now looking into a partition program for linux to partition my hard drive so i can have a small xp partition for school. any suggestions?

also i have read something about xp taking over the mbr...any truth to that?

Try gparted (from http://gparted.sourceforge.net/ ), it is avaiable using a RPM and it works well. It allows to resize Linux's partitions.

About WinXP taking over your mdr, it is all true. Just after your WinXP install you will not be able of starting Fedora. But it should not be a problem installing grub from WinXP or simply editing the boot.ini file in order to remedy the problem. ( scroogle will help you )
