I have a strange problem, my FC5 worked fine until today, something happend and everything started to work slow, too slow. It takes from 15 to 20 sec for mc to start. I'd like to know if anyone else has this problem, if anyone had a solution or maybe anyone has some advice how can I track the problem?

Did you happen to upgrade anything or install anything before this slowness appeared? Also, how much RAM do you have and do you leave your computer running for days instead of turning it off at night? You can also check to see which process takes up all the CPU or memory with a top command from a terminal. Also, check out your memory while you are at it...

There have been known applications that don't close successful / glitch from time to time and use 100% of your CPU, So do what taurus said and try restarting when you're done.

never mind, I think everything comes back to normal, however it was strange, usually gnome loads in some seconds not in one or two minutes
