I have a Radeon 9200 and an Athlon 64 3200+. FC4 was using fglrx.
I upgraded from FC4 to FC5 yesterday with the DVD; the install went smoothly.
The problems started when I tried to boot FC5, rhgb is fine, but when it tries to start the X server it can't. It tries a handfull of times and then says it can't start it and offers to show me the errors or let me log in as root to fix it. If I go with the root option it tries to start X 3 times and then I'm left with a black screen with a flashing underscore in the top left corner. If I say no to all of its offers, it takes me to that same black screen. I can't get it to drop me to a command line. I used a different distro and went in to edit the xorg.conf and change the driver from fglrx to vesa, but it didn't change fedora's behavior.
All help is appreciated. I would like to be able to run X in FC5.
