 ok I have a laptop from www.hypersonic-pc.com an aviator gx7

It has an ATI Radeon 9600 video card

Its a problem with the video card overheating...

I had the same problem with windows before and to fix it i had to install the omega drivers and actually under clock the card and it stopped overheating and bam problem salved

well recently windows pissed me off and so I switched to FC5 and im havening the same problem...I can start it up it will run for about 10 to 15 mins and the laptop gets too hot and then the video card takes a shyt...anyway...I can still see things on the screen but its like I cant even get a screen shot and copy it over to a thumb drive before it does it...otherwise I would have a screen shot for you guys...

Ill try to take a picture with my digital camera...I was going to try to explain it but its really hard to explain...

I was just wondering if there was a utility for linux that will let you under clock your video card much like the omega drivers for windows

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

I wonder if the proprietary drivers would allow you to do that? Also, explain "omega drivers" or provide a link to the info if you could.
