I followed the instructions in this link:

however as soon as i restart gdm all i get is a black screen and only the cursor is visible....

how do i edit the gnome sessions so it doesnt load the compiz stuff

press ctrl-alt-F1(or insert the rescue cd), look for the files you edited and then undo the changes you made.

I you just re-edit the /etc/gdm/custom.conf file you edited for the howto, glx will not be loaded and compiz wont start.Then you can get into the gui and remove compiz from sessions.

ok i keep getting the same problem everytime i try to install XGL....i guess ill just wait till an RPM comes out or something
