Hi,
is there a way to tell gnome-volume-manager to mount removable media at a fixed mount point? Now it mounts my CDs and DVDs at /media/<volume name>. I would like to have them mounted always at /media/cdrom.
Thanks,
Botond

making an entry in /etc/fstab should do it. Of course you will need to create the mountpoint /media/cdrom. Also, you would need to remove any auto managed entries that might conflict with the new entry.

/dev/hdc /media/cdrom auto ro,auto,user,exec 0 0

I've not tried it, so I'm not sure.

That was almost good. When I insert a DVD a message pops up saying: You are not privileged to mount the volume 'FC/5 i386'. (FC/5 i386 is the volume label of the disk.) Of course the "mount /media/cdrom" command succeeds when executed by a normal user.

I just got a new dvd rom drive. I too get the message "You are not privliged to mount the volume" when I try to access the dvd rom. What gives?
