Title says it all, When will a new kernel be in the repo's? I cannot find one anywere execept in the developement branch (Something I don't want) I'm intending to insall GLX on my Nvidia Laptop so would prefer a non developement enviroment (It would help me get help when something goes screwy!) So even before I get to play with the GLX CVS I need a kernel that will support the livina nvidia drivers....

i think that's like a beta kernel from one of the redhat guys, don't think it's an official kernel repo.

kernels come from updates-released, and i thought a kernel that fixes the nvidia/gpl issues had already been released?

The first thing I do after installing FC5 is replace FC5 default kernel by Dave Jones's kernel :)
Why ? Because I need Nvidia driver :)

This is from the davej readme.txt

[2.6testkernels]
name=Test Linux 2.6-test prerelease kernels for rawhide
baseurl=http://people.redhat.com/davej/kernels/Fedora/FC$releasever/

This is from the kernels.repo file
[davej]
name=davej kernels.
baseurl=http://people.redhat.com/davej/kernels/Fedora/FC$releasever/RPMS.kernel/
enabled=1
gpgcheck=0

The word test appears three times and prerelease once in the readme.txt file. The kernels.repo file points to RPMS.kernel, but I'm not sure what that really means here.

I just had yumex update my system to 2080 from davej. However, unlike yum which in the past has changed my grub and on reboot offered me the choice of the old kernel or the new one, I still only get the 2054 at boot and there is no System.map for 2080. I'm doing a reinstall soon so I'm not too concerned about this, but I was hoping to get my nvidia driver running again.

Like I said in the post I want to use the livna kernel mods if Nvidia and ndiswrapper If this is a beta kernel then will livna support it ? if not when will a kernel be released? One that will be supported by the livna kernel mods?

Actually, you're asking in the wrong Forum. We don't have advanced knowledge of such things (at least nobody's telling me anything, but that's not unusual) - try poking around in here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/ for info. I often find stuff in the People blogs or might even suggest posting it as a question.

Edit: AH YES! Here's something: http://fedoraproject.org/people/ Scroll down to Chitlesh Goorah's post - info there.

As always the faster people test new stuff in the updates-testing repostitory and give feedback on an appropriate mailing list, the faster the update will appear.
