View Full Version : External VGA Port in Thinkpad No Longer Works After Upgrade to FC5

I have a thinkpad T40. I just upgrade to FC5. The external vga port no longer works like it was in FC4. In FC4, the external vga port works all the time without changing the setting. Now, it just won't output anything when I put in the cord. Why?

Many thanks.

I found that if I plug the cord to the external port during reboot, the resolution will be all messed up. If I don't plug it in at first, then plug in later, there is no picture in the external port. I have to kill the X window by ctrl-alt-del with the cord plugged in, then there is picture.

But when I run mplayer, there is no video in mplayer window from the external port. Same thing happens in FC4, but I can plug in the cord all the time then it solves the problem in FC4. In FC5, I can't.
