Hello,
I am looking at this MB to build a new server
Tomcat K8E (S2865) with AMD 64 proc

Anyone tried this one?

I am specifically interested in if the nic cards worked out of the box

Thanks for any help/feedback

Yes, I have the non-SLI version of the K8E that you mention with an AMD dual 3800. I must say that I am really impressed with the stability of this board. I have never (6 mo) had any sort of hardware issue with this board, no freezes. Very stable which is why I chose it for my main development box.

If you are looking for a hard core overclocker type board this aint it. But if you need stability and good performance go for this one. I left the SLI version alone as I just don't see the need.

Also, if prices are lower now consider the 4000 or higher X2 chip from AMD as I wish I would have made the jump. The 3800 'feels' about as snappy as my old P4 2.8 oc'd to 3.0ghz and wish I could have felt a little more rev. Where the dual core outshines the P4 is that it feels more consistent as I do more than 2 things at a time without a hiccup.
