Does anyone know how to get xine-output into amarok on amd64? With gstreamer, amarok is crashing / not playing sounds.

I did not find any xine-plugin in the repos.

im not sure but it seems fedora has something hard coded to resist xine-engine, because ive never been able to get the fedora amarok to ever recognize xine, only thing that did it was to compile from source, which is actually not too bad, you just have to have the Devel packages for every dependancy amarok has, including xine-lib-devel and all kde/qt libs-devel. once that is done it works fine, unless someone knows something different that is the only way I have gotten it working and freed myself from the Gstreamer framework (no crossfading, gives false playtimes for my mp3s/etc.etc.)

Thanks a lot, I'll try that tonight. I also don't like gstreamer, it's making even more problems than arts does...

You can install the amarok-xine package. I believe, it is provided by the kde-redhat repository.
