usb thumdrive and camera not working...

Just installed FC5test3 from scratch. I have to say that its much faster than other versions. I installed over the net, it was painless. The only thing that does not seemt to working is the usb system. My hardware is older (Athlon 2400+ XP, 1G SDRAM (PC133), the USB ports are 1.1). In all other FC versions I have been able to have my Kodak CX 7525 load automatically. To me automatic is plug it in and it works. Same with the thumbdrive. Now when I plug in the thumbdrive I get the following in /var/log/messages:

Feb 27 21:39:37 localhost kernel: unable to read partition table

The device is working; the issue is unclear. Here is the output from the camera:

Feb 27 21:46:00 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 6
Feb 27 21:46:00 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: device descriptor read/64, error -71

Feb 27 21:46:02 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: device not accepting address 9, error -71

These errors happen everytime I try to connect them. The software is up to date as of 27FEB @2153 EST.
I have searched the bug DB and it remains unclear if this is being addressed. I have searced the forums ere to no avail. Thanks in advance for any ideas or suggestions.
