Rhythmbox Requires Root Access to Burn CD

FC5-Test3 requires root access to burn cds ...

mine works just fine using my regular user. have burned data.. iso's..dvd..

perhaps its a permissions issue with the device?

well, its probably very much the same to what i had to do to get my scanner working with fc5t3. i had to change the permissions, chmod, the device to 766. it would work if i ran xsane as root but would give me a device busy/not found if run as user.

i dont know what the device is in your system.. probably something like /dev/hda or /dev/hdb, etc. you would type, as root, chmod 766 /dev/hd? (?=whatever letter your cdwriter is).

I had the same thoughts, but a no go ... No big deal as the final will be out in a couple of weeks and I'm sure this loose end will be corrected.

anytime..sorry that didnt work for you. and yes.. there are several small little semi-annoying things i am hoping will be all tidied up when fc5 final is release

Just an update for anyone new to this thread. Installed FC5-3 on another computer and it appears to be working correctly. May be a hardware issue.
