Talking Help with wine

I am trying to run QCharts 5.1 (A stock charting application) with wine 0.9.7. Running this on fedora core 4. I am able to run other apps thru wine, but this is the only app not working. it is critical that I get this running because at that point, WinBlows gets officially resigned to the trash can. If any one has any ideas that may help, I would appreciate it greatly.

Sorry for not helping ur answer, but how did u get that version of wine? Did u compile from source? The latest rpms for fedora are 0.9.2 which is way behind all the other major distros for a reason that escapes me.

Thanks

actually wine is also located in the extras repository, the current version in there is 0.9.7-3.fc4. in reposnse to the original question, did u search in the wine application database at www.winehq.com? you might be able to find help there, also check out winetools and u can always download the latest version, 0.9.8 and see if that help any

Thanks.. I have been to the database at WineHQ and one user said that he was able to get it to work, haven't been able to contact him though. I have one other thing that I will try. Hopefully I will post back shortly with the answer.

QCharts worked on wine version 0.9.5 I was told when wine upgraded new bugs were introduced that stopped the application from working. I loaded wine 0.9.5 and the whole thing was AFU. I had to hunt down a bunch of older DLL's as the new one would not work with the older wine version. QCharts would not even launch and my PokerStars application would not run once installed with 0.9.5. So I removed the whole thing and reinstalled the current wine. My only recourse seems to be tyhat hopefully if enough folks ask on Wine HQ, they will make it a priority to get the app working.

Until then looks like I have to keep XP on my laptop
