Firewall Setup Help

Hi guys,

I need help setting up a firewall, when i installed FC4 i selected the option not to have a firewall and now i wish to add one in. I am using linux in console mode, so do not have a GUI.

I want to have access via ssh and ftp and have a list of ports i want open, can you please talk me through how to set it up.

Msn or IRC support would be great coz then we can chat but any help is greatly taken.

Regards

Elliot

run 'lokkit'

setup gets you there. but lokkit is the app that does the firewall settigns for iptables. Enable and customize it to your desire. Info will be written to /etc/sysconfig/iptables. You can start the iptables service with:

service iptables start

Cheers,

You can also run system-config-securitylevel and that is essentially the same thing that you saw during the install.

Gives you the ability to turn on the firewall (iptables) as well as SELinux.
