please help I have no idea what I'm doing

I want to download fedora core linux to dual boot on my windows pc. what version do I need to download? I've already downloaded FC4-i386-srpms-disk(x)-iso, disk 4 is downloading as I type, is this the right one? my computer wont recognise the file type "iso"

please help me

No, if you have a 32bit machine, you'll want to download the i386 versions, not the srpms. Sorry, but those are for people who want to create a custom version of Fedora (source files). You'll also want to burn the files as 'images' not just copy them. And, make sure you've partitioned your hard drive (after defragging) and backed up your Windows files prior to installation. If you need more help on any of that, please post back.

pardon me for being a burden again but I now have my discs burned, my hard drive partitioned, but when I try to boot from disc one nothing happens at all, might you know whats going on?

Are your BIOS setup to boot from a disk? You have to enable that before your system will notice the CD while it's booting.

Yes; As it says in the HowTo sometimes you must manually tell your computer to boot from the CD -- it also shows how to edit your BIOS.

yes, I've told it to boot form the disc, then it shows what the disk is and stops

Did you burn the disks as data (did you just put the ISO onto the CD and burn it) or burnt it as an image?
