flash player install /mozilla

i am having diffuculty getting flashplayer installed in mozilla on fc1. at the flash intallation prompt for the "dir to be installed in" i have tried quite a few lines without success(ex. /usr/lib/mozilla, /usr/lib/./mozilla, etc.). i have firefox browser in /opt/firefox and there was no problem using the line /opt/./firefox with the flash installer so i know the flashinstaller**.tar is not corrupt. i would like to get it in mozilla without linking to the firefox installed one. what am i doing wrong here?

using the fc1 disks mozilla 1.4

This always fails for me too. Just copy the *lib to the mozilla directory by hand. That' s all the installer is doing anyway.

An even better idea is too use the rpms avalable from the Flash-plugin repository:

Add this to your yum.conf:

Code:
[macromedia.mplug.org]
name=macromedia.mplug.org - Flash Plugin
baseurl=http://macromedia.mplug.org/apt/fedora/$releasever
http://sluglug.ucsc.edu/macromedia/apt/fedora/$releasever
http://ruslug.rutgers.edu/macromedia/apt/fedora/$releasever
http://macromedia.rediris.es/apt/fedora/$releasever
#gpgcheck=1
yum install flash-plugin will install it so that it can be used in any of your installed browsers, and if you install new ones, it will work there as well. yum will keep it updated too, use the avalable resources.

Using you tips, I installed the macromedia source. Even though I had already installed Flash before. The results were "...latest Flash plug-in installed. No action to take". I suspect I'll have to direct it to my FireFox browser. How do I go about doing that? By the way, Flash works with Mozilla. Thanks in advance.
