I have an issue I would like to resolve regarding GDM. I have been successful in setting my desktop to a resolution of 1280x1024 @ 60HZ through my Gnome desktop. The graphics work beautifully and all is good once I am logged in.
The problem is that I have to get in through init level 3 to do this because the GDM logon screen apparently doesn't know how to handle this change in the xorg.conf file and the preferences set in Gnome.
Obviously they are controlled from two different places, but I have been unable to determine where and exactly what I need to do in order to tell GDM logon that I need this 1280x1024@60HZ setting. I am assuming (and we all know how dangerous that is) that it takes the 1280x1024 setting just fine, but doesn't change the refresh to 60HZ.
Could someone please show me the way to set this up correctly?
