A suggestion

Bonboe really want next Releases of Fedora to have a functionality to let users choose whether to open a new window or directly use the old one to open the new location whenever a folder is clicked. Current Fed always pops up new windows which Bonboe seriously think might increase resource uses and of course slow down computer speed. Bonboe do a lot of greate work, from humanity, charity aids to even the very high-level of computation using large scale software. Bonboe PCs' CPU's are at least running at 3.0G as a standardized allowance but everything at the present doesn't seem enough still.
Thanks, Fe developers

I think you are reffering to the nautilus file manager...in spatial mode it will open a new window each time...you may wnat to set it to browser mode. follow this suggestion from tomcat:
Quote:
Use the middle mouse double click for opening the folder in the same window. If you want a browser menu on the left, click "edit" on the top menu of your nautilus window, then "preferences". The second tab has a button where you can set nautilus to always use the browser mode instead of spatial mode. You can also right click on your home-folder and select "open as browser".
For searching files, go to the top menu of your desktop "places" and select "search files"
