Promote Linux!!!
A great thing to do to learn more about Linux in general, is to join a Linux User Group. A good list of all the LUG's in the world is available from Linux Magazine. Find your local one and go along. I am part of Aberdeen's one in Scotland, UK. I organise the Open Day's.
If you have friends (maybe not) that haven't heard of Linux yet (they need to be shot if they haven't) a good project to check out is the Linux Brochure Project. It's aim (you can download the source from Sourceforge):
Quote:
|
Our overall goal is simple; document essential Linux information on the two sides of a single letter-size or A4 sheet of paper which is Z- or C-folded into six mini-pages of a brochure that LUGs and other Linux organizations can use for publicity.
|
Print some out and hand them to random people!!!
You might make friends, you might lose some :-)
Go on, join a Linux User Group today.

Well mine covers the whole of East Anglia! Which is a ridiculously huge area.
(Non GB: Look at a map of Britain, and look at the east, East Anglia is the whole huge round lump sticking out the side!)

I joined my local one, NORLUG. I didn't even know it existed until I found linux.org's list.

Its about half that for me, and even then the LUG appears to be dead. Which isn't very good at all! I might join one when I go to University though.
But to be honest I'm not in that much of a hurry.

We have one at school that used to be run by Ug, it may not have been a very big one but if it wasn't for LUG I wouldn't be using Fedora
