Internet issue..

I have read the other post dealing with this issue and I have yet to find a solution.. By the way its been a long while since I have been here..

Anyway, I have changed subnet addresses, I have disabled IPv6, I have tried entering all the numbers in manually with no luck.

The strange thing is that the internet connection is very selective. I can go to all the redhat sites, mozilla, and anything else dealing with either redhat, fedora, or mozilla, but once I try to leave the fedora circle of influence I get timed out..

I'm hoping that someone out there has already done battle with this and has some good advice..

Oh, just to answer the question in advance, this same thing happens on FC3 as well as FC4(which is currently installed).

I would check your DNS server. You probably have a local copy that is being used to visit the sites you specified and it times out when you try to go to other sites. Try this:

ping 204.127.205.8

If you get a reply, then do

ping comcast.net

If this times out, you have a local copy.

btw, what are the contents of your /etc/resolv.conf?

Thanks I got it going!
All I had to do is change the resolv.conf file to my modem's DNS servers and it worked!
