sendmail won't accept remote connections on 25

Hi Guys,

I am faced to strange problem. Regardless firewall started or no, I can't connect to the box outside via "telnet box.com 25" while "telnet localhost 25" works just fine. Where should I look else? Please, any ideas are much appreciated.

I use:

OS: FC3
Senmail: ESMTP Sendmail 8.13.1/8.13.1;

I am more of a Postfix person, but I believe that Sendmail is configured by default to only listen to localhost and not bind to any interfaces.

Hi IronWolf,

Yep, thank you very much. That was it. I had to remove from the options Addr= 127.0.0.1 and it worked. Thanks again.

That is actually a feature to prevent ondefault servers being open relays to send the modern day plaque - spam

And to minimize the numbers of services accepting connections that could potentially be exploited by security flaws.
