Ibm thinkpad R52/wireless

My thinkpad is not recognizing the wireless interface in my laptop. I am new to working with linux as an OS.
Can someone point me to step by step instructions for getting wireless to work on My R52 laptop.
I have looked at some of the how to's but have not been able to figure out how to install drivers for my wireless interface. I have mistakenly deleted the ipw2200.o file and now my laptop is not finding the wireless interface. how do I restore this file and get my wireles to work properly.
[SIZE=4}can someone please point me in the right direction with this problem[/SIZE]
