Compaq 1850r Smart2 Array Controller.

Hi, I'm attempting to install FC2 on a compaq 1850r with a Smart2 array controller (raid0) and for some reason it is never detecting the controller, either that or it just isn't detecting the raid. I shows the onboard SCSI controller, but it never shows the smart2 drives. I've never had this problem with Gentoo or SUSE and I really want to give FC2 a try. Can someone assist?

It might be that the FC2 raid support isnt fully function yet. FC2 is still in its test phase, and wont actually be stable till they release it in April. Does FC1 recognize the raid0 drive? If so, i would just stick with FC1 until the stable version of FC2 comes out, then worry about the raid. If neither recognize the raid0, try posting a bugzilla report about it. Thats all i got

Ok, now with FC1. It installs, but the system hardlocks when it tries to do hardware probing.

Hi kraq,

Try booting/installing with the noprobe kernel argument (type linux noprobe at the lilo prompt upon boot of CD)

Hope that helps,
