Cool dmoainname and ypbind

hello,

i`m trying to connect my local-user-administration to the my nis-server. with ypbind it`s working, but just if i set the domainname befor, after a reboot the mashine lose the dmoainname informations and is not conected to the nis.

the second problem is, that after the login with the nis, the home-directory isn`t mounted. but it should be. i edited the nsswitch but it`s not working. and without a home directory, gnome isn`t able to save the config files.

any ideas? any informations about my system needed?

enjoy riddeling phill

You'll need to add a line to /etc/sysconfig/network NISDOMAIN="domain"
(put your domain name in the quotes)

I was googling my own defaultdomain issue and came across this post so i thought i'd stop in and post the answer.

For the second problem we'd need more info - are you using auto-mounter or just entries in your /etc/fstab .. but as this issue is three months old I'm sure you've moved on.
