Hi everyone.
I have Fedora Core 4 and I need to configure a very special internet
modem connection.
I used to have a broadband connection through the Ethernet, and it worked perfectly
in Fedora.
Now, I'm in a different location and I have only a dialup connection.
After trying different modems, I was able to configure a CNet 56K serial external
modem connected to a com port.
I used the "Generic Modem" and put it in /dev/ttyS0, and the modem dials correctly.
But the problem is that the connection needs a terminal window after dialing. How do
I configure a terminal window after dialing in Fedora?
Another question: If I successfuly connect to the Internet through a modem, Does Fedora
or the Internet browser (Firefox for example) knows automatically that the Internet
connection is using the Modem instead of the Ethernet?
Maybe this is very simple but I'm still a newbie.
Your help is really appreciated!
Thanks for your time.
